Well here we are, coming to the end of another extraordinarily different kind of year. I hope you and your families are well. It's been great to see people starting to meet up together again, and I know in particular pipe band members have been relieved. I've been so very encouraged by the emails and messages from musicians who took the year to really focus on their music, and my corporate colleagues who added significant learning activities on to their development plans.
I've been focused on the 3rd book in the Jumping Musical Hurdles series. This book has been written for the adult who is either learning to play a musical instrument for the first time, or returning after many years. Those early years need all manner of strategies to navigate. This book will not only be for the pipe band community, but has been expanded to those learning any instrument. I found it to be too important to leave the future guitarist, pianist, cellist out of this work. The book is nearly complete, the first 5 chapters being edited and loaded for digital publishing now. I have one chapter to complete, so you should see the book published in the early new year! It's been a long process!
The first 2 books continue to do well judging by the feedback. If you know players who would benefit from that work, perhaps one would make a nice Christmas gift. I know the Nat'l Piping Centre in Scotland and Tartantown in BC, Canada have stock if you want to support those groups. Otherwise, you'll find the book at Amazon and other online resellers. If you have any trouble getting a copy, send me a message and I'll do what I can to get that copy to you.
On on to the end of the year. As soon as I have the title and description for the new book, I'll post that for sure.
Have a wonderful holiday season and please stay in touch. It makes these long days so much better when I hear from you.
